The Symptoms of Trichomoniasis

Of all the sexually transmitted diseases out there Trichomoniasis is one of the most difficult to detect without the proper testing. This is due to the fact that most people do not suffer from any Trichomoniasis symptoms once they are infected.Which makes the person believe that they are fine when in truth they have a parasite resting in the urinary tract of their body just waiting to multiply and infect someone else. Trichomoniasis symptoms are said to appear in less than three percent of all infected people in the world, making it the easiest spread and most common of all sexually transmitted diseases.

Trichomoniasis symptoms are very bothersome and most of all they are uncomfortable to the person suffering with them. In most cases the Trichomoniasis symptoms are a deterrent from sexual activity which is one of the few good things about the disease itself. While they are uncomfortable the Trichmononiasis symptoms are not life threatening and can be treated with a simple regimen of antibiotics.

Trichomoniasis symptoms are similar for both the man and the woman and one or all may present in both parties. In most cases the disease can be treated easily but both people that have been sexually active with one another need to be treated at the same time or the infection will continue to spread.

Female Trichomonoiasis symptoms include:

* Gray, green or yellow discharge from the vagina. It will normally be abundant and frothy or milky in texture. This symptom may get worse during the menstrual cycle.

* Foul and unpleasant odor from the vagina region that does not improve with regular bathing.

* Extreme itching in the vagina area especially following a bath or shower.

* Discomfort or pain during intercourse.

* Discomfort or pain in urination.

* Pain or soreness in the inner thigh area.

It is unlikely for any Trichomoniasis symptoms to present in the male. The doctors believe this to be a response to the female nature of the parasite that causes this disease. While it is rare, there have been cases where one or more Trichomonoiasis symptoms do occur and they can include:

* Mild to excessive itching of the penis area, especially in the urethral tract.

* Burning from urination and/or ejaculation

* Prostate inflammation

* Pain in the scrotum or mild inflammation

* Small amounts of frothy or milky discharge from the penis with a foul odor.

Trichomoniasis symptoms may or may not appear. If you think that you have been infected then you should get tested right away and abstain from any kind of sexual contact to prevent the disease from spreading.
